Chapter 1 – I Fell Into a Cyber Dream
I woke up in this city.
Neon lights flickered all around me. The roar of machines pounded like a second heartbeat. The air reeked of cold metal.
I had no idea what had happened, but instinct whispered in my ear:
“This place is dangerous. You need to run. Now!”
A red-glowing signboard blurred past as I stumbled forward:
“That boy is a monster.”
Were they talking about me?
Am I the monster?
On a wall by the street, a graffiti of a lady in red stared down at me. I couldn’t make out her face, but the way she stood: proud, untouchable, radiated an oppressive power.
As I rushed past, I swear I heard her voice, low and rasping in my ear:
“Death or love tonight.”
